Anatomy Class
If I had to pick one class that provides me with both the necessary information I need and meaningful interactions with classmates, it would be anatomy and physiology with Mr. Silverman. I wish I could choose more classes because every teacher at Burke Catholic is dedicated to fostering both intellectual knowledge and personal growth to students. However, A&P with Mr. Silverman really stands out as the best. I may be biased because I enjoy the science and the functions behind the human body, but I find that all students in his class are engaged, attentive, and respectful: qualities that all classes should embody.
Knowing that my peers and I are having fun taking the class and given plenty of information about how the body works and functions are positive. I am certainly not saying that this class is considered a "cakewalk". It can be challenging at times to identify and to memorize many parts or systems of the body and their respective functions. Mr. Silverman changes this by explaining everything clearly and thoroughly, making sure that his students understand every single detail.
In short, Mr. Silverman's A&P class represents what every class should be in schools. It fosters meaningful insight and genuine interactions that spark curiosity and interest with every student, including myself. If someone has no interest in anatomy, but got put into anyways, will find the class interesting and will put in the work to receive a good grade. Ultimately, what makes a classroom truly have meaning is the teacher and Mr. Silverman is the perfect candidate for this.

Interview with Mr. McGinnis
I decided to interview Mr. McGinnis. He was my teacher for AP World my sophomore year and became one of my favorite teachers. He is always so helpful and kind to all of his students.
How long have you been a teacher? 28 years and 21 years at Burke
Why did you want to become a teacher? My father was a teacher. And I wanted to coach and teaching is a gateway to coaching.
Was the subject you teach your favorite in school? Top two, I did like math as well but when i got to college and took calculus it redirected me

Did you always want to be a teacher or did it come later to you? Always wanted to be. My dad was my role model for me throughout my life

Ms. G has been a significant role model in my life at BC so when I had the option of interviewing a teacher here at school she was the first one that came to mind.

What drove you to Burke Catholic ? I had graduated college right after covid and it was like a blessing that came from God.
