Senior Week

      It's crazy to think about how something you waited five years for at Burke was over in one week. I didn’t actually think that our ‘100 Nights Before Graduation’ dinner was actually 100 nights before graduation, but after a quick Google search, reality hit me like a truck. The place I had spent five years at will be a memory in less than 100 days. However, senior week gave me the opportunity to create so many fun memories to look back on. 
    Getting to see everybody's ‘anything but a backpack’, meme day shirts, and senior citizen outfits was unforgettable. One of my favorite moments of senior week was the senior bingo. I walked into the cafeteria with one goal: winning. I am extremely competitive and needed to win. Every time I would be close to bingo my heart would race, just to be disappointed when someone else called it. However, in the final blackout round, I finally won, but with 10 other people. I am happy to say that I got a fifty dollar Disney gift card. Another one of the best moments was the senior dinner, especially the senior slideshow. Listening to the emotional songs paired with baby pictures and other moments from high school was such a surreal moment. 
    When I was a freshman, seniors used to say “it’ll go by so fast”, I didn’t believe it. However, high school has gone by so incredibly fast that it doesn't even seem to be possible that graduation is right around the corner. The Disney trip, prom, senior Mass, and so many other events are so close as well. I cannot wait for all of the other special moments with the Burke Catholic class of 2026.

Senior Experiences

As a senior at Burke Catholic, having the opportunity to be celebrated for an entire week was amazing! All of the activities planned led to an extremely fun experience for everyone who participated. On the first day, students had so much fun with the "Anything But a Backpack" theme. It was so interesting to see what creative "backpacks" seniors choose to bring that day. I selected to drag a large cooler around all day, and while it was very inconvenient, we still had a great experience. It was also really neat to be able to teach a class that week. Ariana and I taught Mr. McGinnis's AP World class! We made a Kahoot and tested the students on their knowledge of different revolutions. While it was not as serious as a regular lesson, it was still really enjoyable to be on the other side of things and have a new perspective in the classroom. Bingo later in the week was personally my favorite activity planned for seniors. I loved seeing the friendly competition between my classmates. Even though I didn't win, I came close and it was still awesome to see other people win prizes. To finish the week ice cream in the cafeteria was perfect! Mrs. Morgan gave us all a generous serving, which I finished very quickly. It was also hilarious to see the various
different memes that people wore on their shirts. The week truly flew by due to all the fun, and I'm a little sad that it's over. The seniors in coming years will have a great time during their week!

Fall 2025 Pep Rally

We kicked off our first pep rally of the school year! The seniors won the volleyball game, and the juniors won the spirit stick. All grades showed their spirit by dressing down according to the themes. The teachers played a head to head volleyball game against the seniors, and although they lost; it was a tough game that was very fun filled! We are looking forward to our winter pep rally coming up in the future, go eagles!

Winter 2026 Pep Rally

In late January, the annual winter pep rally was the most exciting event yet. As a senior, it was a bit sad to have this be the last pep rally as a cheerleader. Despite this, I was eager to see what games would be played at this event. The transition from volleyball to basketball marks the bittersweet end to fall, and the introduction to spring sports in the near future.  Every grade wore their corresponding colors, and the seniors went all out with eye black, face paint, tutus, signable shirts, pom-poms, and encouraging signs to show their pride. The teachers unveiled their hilarious custom shirt featuring a basketball dabbing while wearing sunglasses. The best part of the pep rally was the spirit stick competition, which always makes the gym erupt in prideful yells in hopes that one's grade will win. Following the Winter 2026 Pep Rally was the Winter Ball, which was perfectly directed, and allowed students to have a lot of fun. The Winter Ball included attractions such as a photobooth, DJ selected music, colorful disco lights, props, snacks, and dances. I am looking forward to future pep rallies, although I will be not there, but will be excited for the individuals who got to experience an exhilarating event like Burke's pep rallies. Go Eagles!

Spring 2026 Pep Rally

Student government hosted an extraordinary final pep rally to wrap up the year! The seniors won the championship of the dodgeball game and the sophomores won the spirit stick! The seniors were rewarded with a grand goodbye, where they were cheered on by their under classmates as they walked out to their senior song, Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. It was an emotional moment for our seniors, tugging at the crowds heartstrings. Below are photos attached from the pep rally, especially highlighting the senior class.
